The Cross-Eyed Bear

Little six year-old Jane came skipping in all excited from her Sunday School class.

"Mummy, Mummy. Today we sang a wonderful song about a cross-eyed bear."

Not quite clear what little Jane's excitement was all about, Jane's mother asked,

"What do you mean a cross-eyed bear darling?"

"You know, the song about the cross-eyed bear named Gladly."

"I'm sorry sweetie, but I haven't a clue what you're on about."

"Sure you do Mum, the song goes Gladly The Cross-Eyed Bear."

Mother finally twigged.

"Oh precious, you mean Gladly The Cross I'd Bear."
