God Transforms One Man’s Passion for Flight into Passion for Him.
Author realizes his dream and soars with the eagles

LONGWOOD, FL—From his early teens, author Ray Dousset had an all-consuming passion to fly. But there were setbacks. He failed his first eye exam, endured several bouts of depression, and was diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder (manic-depression). Despite these obstacles, Dousset went on to fly the Blackhawk helicopter and became a 6,000-hour search-and-rescue pilot.

Rotor in the Green (paperback, 978-1-60266-316-9) relates the story of his life—the joys and triumphs along with the pain and struggles. According to the author, this honest, straightforward account “...is the story of achieving my dream, only to find it just a step; a necessary step to attaining the real secret of peace and fulfillment in my life.”

Rotor in the Green relates how Dousset faced the hard reality of his bipolar disorder and discovered the radical power of God to make all things new. “God calls us to be disciples here on earth, to witness to the love and saving power that He has for us,” says Dousset. “While He gave my hands the skill to fly a helicopter, the real gift is the change He has brought about in my heart since I invited Him to be my Lord and Savior.” Written while Dousset was grounded from flying due to his medical condition, this story reveals the author’s triumph over despair through God’s power in his life.

Ray Dousset currently lives in China with wife Suzanne and fifteen-year-old Chinese foster daughter, Wang Xiang (Deborah), where he teaches English to doctors and university medical students.
